17. The Solitary Soldier This very old photo was taken in a house undergoing renovation. It is known that Confederate soldiers would sleep down in the cellar. The photo was taken during the American Civil War. It shows a ghost, believed to be that of a dead soldier, all lonely and solemn, walking up the stairs of the cellar.
